Homework Policy

Homework has become a nightmare for both students and parents these days. The unhealthy practice of overburdening the pupils and parents with homework has proven to be counterproductive.  But if approached scientifically, homework can be a valuable aspect of the learning process which contributes to the development of sound and effective study skills.

At GIS, we will follow a “No Daily Homework”policy. However, we will be having weekend and vacations based projects. Weekly activities focus on literacy and numeracy to reinforce and consolidate skills taught. These projects will help to instill a sense of responsibility, self-reliance and time management in the students.

We request parents’full cooperation in seeing that the home assignments are completed due in time. If for any reason, homework cannot be completed, parents should let the teachers know in writing via the student’s diary.
